Thank you for reviewing my personal
contact information through The Orchard Foundation. It would be a joy to serve you in completing a planned gift
that would be a legacy to your family and would make an impact for kingdom
ministry.
It’s not the amount of money possessed or given that defines stewardship.
True
stewardship is recognizing that everything comes from God! When a
decision is made about how and where financial resources are invested
or disbursed, it reflects back on our view of the One who gave it to
us. It reveals the essence of our relationship with Him. It has the potential
to make a current impact and touch others beyond our lifetime. True stewardship,
thus, is planning intentionally how to serve God and others through the
gifts and graces that God has brought as blessings in our own lives.
Often we get caught up in various products and documents; sometimes even
in the types of investments and technical issues. Others equate ‘tithing’ and
giving with stewardship. These are not the real focus of stewardship.
They are the by-products of effective stewardship. At its core, true
stewardship focuses on how we handle and use those resources and reveals
the attitude in our heart toward the resources God has given us.
Stewardship
is spiritual before it is mechanical. That is why Jesus instructed
us:
“Store your treasures in heaven, where they cannot be destroyed
by moth or rust and where thieves cannot break in and steal. Your heart
will be where your treasure is.” (Matt. 6:20-21).
In His service and yours,
Steph
