“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”

— Jim Elliot
Are you a Kingdom Investor?
Many times in the New Testament we are told about storing up treasure in heaven. The method is clear. In each case, we are told the way to store up treasure in heaven is to give material resources (which we cannot keep) to help others in need. Our promised reward is treasure in heaven (which we cannot lose).
I think one of the most dramatic stories of a kingdom investor is about a boy with just five small barley loaves and two small fishes. Just like the boy in this story many times we are confronted with overwhelming circumstances and we simply don’t have the resources to meet the need. All we have is five SMALL barley loaves and two SMALL fishes. In the story because a little boy was willing to invest the little that he had, Jesus fed more than 5,000 people that day. This miracle affected not only those who sat on the ground before Him, but also serves as an example for us today.
Many times when we look at what we have, we only see the five small barley loaves and two small fishes. We don’t have enough to make a significant impact. It’s just a little bit. The Lord couldn’t possibly care about it. We fail to see the miracle that the Lord wants to produce with the little that we have... if only we are willing to put it in His hands to invest in His kingdom.
Investing in the kingdom comes with a promise. If we are willing to invest the little we have, we are promised treasure in heaven. So what about you? Are you interested in becoming a “kingdom investor?”
Kingdom investments come in many forms. Some require our talent. Some require our time. And some require our treasure. One way to invest in the kingdom is through your estate plan. If you are interested in learning more just give me a call (888-689-6300). I’d be delighted to show you tools that you can use to be a more effective Kingdom Investor.
Remember, God looks on the heart. He is not as concerned with how much we have as He is about whether we are willing to put it in His hands to use for His purposes. Even if all we have is five small barley loaves and two small fishes.
