A special message from Tom Denham, 2003 Chairman of the Board of Stewards, The Orchard Foundation
From the beginning, The Orchard Foundation has set forth a unique agenda.Mainstream estate design often tells you how to transform resources but contributes little to the transformation of hearts. The effectiveness of the work is measured in percentages of return and growth.
The Orchard Foundation seeks to be financially effective as well, but we can't stop there. We have to measure our effectiveness not only in terms of transformed resources, but also in transformed lives. We seek to connect estate and gift planning with touched lives and transformed hearts.
Generosity was in the heart of Christians in the very first days of the church of Jesus Christ:
“All
the believers were of one heart and mind, and they felt that
what they owned was not their own...” (Acts 4:32) That attitude in the early church allowed the less fortunate in God's Kingdom to survive. That attitude in today's church is helping complete the Great Commission, as this year's Annual Report demonstrates.
